Stairs Against Drugs (SAD) is a movement to protect India’s youth from drug menace and to support sustained recovery of the ones who have fallen prey to the same.
Stairs Against Drugs movement has been at the core of every initiative of Stairs since its inception in 2000. Every engagement, be it a kabaddi match in remote village, rural Olympics, or a national-level league, has had #DrugsFreeIndia as its core message.
Until the end of 2022, over a million youth who play with Stairs across India have pledged to #NashaMuktBharat and #DrugFreeIndia, which is the fundamental mission of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan conceptualised by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
Inform, engage, converse with and align all domain stakeholders to create cohesive communities with power to eradicate the drugs menace in the country. SAD’s multipronged approach in fighting the drug menace is complementing the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan conceptualised by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
SAD has aligned all its interventions with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan conceptualised by Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
The multipronged approach of SAD to fight the drug menace is by complementing the state and the central government’s efforts.
The ongoing strategic interventions by SAD are enabling preventive education, awareness generation, counselling, treatment, and rehabilitation of drug-dependent youth.
SAD’s focus is also on building capacities of domain stakeholders in order to support efforts of the central and state governments and non-government organizations.
